ASAUB Organizes Seminar on Shakespearean Drama
Department of English, ASA University Bangladesh, organized a seminar on Shakespearean Drama in the IQAC Conference Room on 20 May 2024. Dr. Syed Manzoorul Islam, Professor Emeritus, Department of English, University of Dhaka was the keynote speaker in the seminar.
Professor Dr. Syed Manzoorul Islam in his keynote speech underscored the relevance of studying Shakespearean drama in today’s world. He explained that the messages and themes of Shakespeare’s works are universal and timeless. In his speech he also highlighted the overall contribution of literature in promoting human values and imagination in the modern world of consumerism and corporate culture.
Md. Iqbal Khan Chowdhury, Hon’ble Treasurer & Vice Chancellor (In-charge), Professor Dr. Abu Daud Hasan, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Science, & Chairman, Department of English, Md. Saiful Alam, Chairman, Department of Law, and Sophia Hossain, Registrar (In-Charge), ASAUB were present in the seminar. Faculty members and students of the Department of English attended the seminar.
