Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
BBA is a professional degree which is designed to produce graduates in general management positions in the vast arena of the business sector. The courses offered by the program focus on general management theory and concepts and their practical applications. So the program is a very rigorous one and is expected to prepare and empower students in pursuing a successful career in business management.
The specific objectives of the program are:
- to promote the intellectual growth of the students admitted in the program
- to develop competence necessary for effective management of business, government and service organizations in a dynamic environment
- to develop the skill of research necessary to deal with various economic, social, moral & political aspects
- to provide an environment for corporate connections at both national and international levels.
Admission Requirements
The university provides clear and transparent admission information to the prospective students so that they can make informed choices prior to submitting an application. All applicants, regardless of the programme applied for, must have a good academic record and must have achieved the minimum academic qualifications required for admission in the subject. They should also have a clear commitment and motivation for further study and a strong interest in his / her chosen subject.
To enter an undergraduate program in ASAUB, the applicant must satisfy:
- the university’s general minimum requirement and
- the individual program requirement.
ASAUB admits students with the potential to pursuing higher education. It welcomes applications from the students regardless of their gender, religion, age, race, national origin, social background, marital or parental status and disability. It is also committed to the principals of widening participation and encouraging applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds. It may be noted that admission in some of our programs is very competitive and fulfilling the minimum requirement does not guarantee admission. ASAUB generally follow a policy of limiting the number of seats in a program which means that some students having eligibility often may not get admission.

Duration of the Program and Total Credit Hours
The academic requirement is flexible enough to accommodate students pursuing a wide variety of goals. Broad field like Business Administration calls for a flexible curriculum. The BBA curriculum is the combination of Core business courses, General education courses, Remedial courses and Major courses. The course structure is as follows:

Although the normal duration is four years, the program must be completed within a maximum period of 6 years. But in case of special circumstances degree can be completed within 7 years. Importance will be given on practical training for a period of 3-6 months. For that reason the students will get credit. There will be flexibility for the students in number of courses in a particular semester. Normal load is four courses in a semester, but a student may take less than four courses (3 to 2). Moreover, there is provision for retaking the course for improvement of grade.
